Ogou Feray is the Loa of Warriors, a great general and tactician. He is a fierce defender of the oppressed and is deeply tied to the Haitian Revolution.

As a member of the Nago nation of loas, he has Yoruba origins. He is the embodiment of war, fire, metal, and political power. Ogou Feray’s symbols include a machete or saber, iron, or anvils.

Harnessing the power of iron was an influential ideology to Haitians before they earned their freedom. Since most shackles were made of iron, holding power over these restraints became a symbol of revolution.

As a symbol of transformation, Ogou Feray created an ideology that Haitians could shape their future. Today, this loa is associated with the colors red and blue, matching the colors of the Haitian flag.
